Project Name: Who's has a clue?

Students will create and exchange a ficitious Cold Case to challenge the forensics skills of their peers

Project Planning

Applying concepts from Biology, Physical Science, Technology , and Mathematics students analyze and interpret ficitious evidence with hopes of solving a mystery.

Ages, types of students, type of course(s) or subjects that this could appropriately be used with.

October through December.

Wikispace, Edmodo, and YouTube will be used. The students will communicate through Edmodo, video crime scenes or evidence and post on restricted YouTube sites, and they will be sharing and collaborating.

This project is important because it requires the students to CREATE a crime scene for another class as well as solve a crime scene that is sent to them. It uses higher level reasoning tools, collaborative efforts to put together the crime scene, and higher level reasoning skills to solve the mystery.
Why is this project important. Include statistics and facts about why this is a needed project. "Sell" this to the world about why it is an issue that should be addressed and why this particular project can make a difference. What will you use to share this?

Challenges may be in the different grade levels involved - middle to high school. Teachers will supply the connection to another classroom and the background knowledge need to solve a crime. The students will generate the actual crime scene for the linked classroom to solve so they will be student leaders.
How will you know if this is done well? How will you encourage student participation? How will you motivate? How will you know if the project is successful?

The Future
